2008 Individual Grants in the Arts

This May, the Santa Maria Arts Council will award its individual grants in the arts in recognition of the outstanding contributions of Roger DeLaurier to the artistic and cultural enrichment of the Santa Maria Valley. As Conservatory Director of Actor Training and Associate Artistic Director of PCPA Theaterfest, he has inspired countless acting students and directed well over 30 productions since 1988, enhancing the quality of life for northern Santa Barbara County and its residents.

A $1,500 First Award and $1,000 Second Award will be presented in each of the categories of Dance, Drama, Music, and Visual Arts.

The grants are based on artistic excellence and promise to grow in the arts.

To apply for a Santa Maria Arts Council Grant, applicants must attend one of the workshops held Feb. 12, Feb. 14, Feb. 15, Feb. 23 where they will receive an applications. The Application deadline is Friday, March 14. Mail completed applications to Kate Burridge, SMAC Individual Grants, 1451 Paseo Ladera Lane, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420.
